5 color trends for fall that will last into 2017

The Schlage design team recently explored trends they're seeing at industry events and tradeshows throughout the year. Here are a few of their findings.
Shift from cool to warm
As sources of energy and renewal, earth tones are taking the lead over a previous trend of subdued, jewel tones.
Divide and Single Malt
The ELEVATE Design Collective's original Pantone® color boasts a distinctive organic and warm shade to evoke cold-weather comforts like cognac and leather.
Copper
Copper will serve best as an accent this fall, adding a touch of glamour to sink fixtures and kitchenware. Add visual interest by pairing the warmer metal with silvery accents and darker bronzes.
Weathered finish
Aged patinas, like Schlage's Aged Bronze finish, add character and a sense of nostalgia to home accent pieces.
Matte black
Matte Black is the ultimate finish for creating a strikingly bold, yet clean and modern look. This trend is expected to dominate well into next year.
